DragDropr Visual Drag and Drop Page Builder (Plugin Review)
If you are looking for ways to design a blog, but don’t know how to code, then you would likely need some alternatives. Do a quick Google search, and you'll find a bunch of cool and upcoming products in the page builders plugin market. These solutions open new doors to a whole lot of options to choose from. Indeed, there is a huge range of this type of tool, but the general idea is the same – you design a web page by organizing images, buttons, titles, videos etc. without the need of coding, but simply dragging items around. Not every software package of this kind works as it promises though, so I would like to share with you a favorable one which goes under the name of DragDropr.
What is DragDropr?
My expectations of DragDropr were the same as with any similar software package meaning that I always hope the tool would work as it says. To elaborate, the main idea with products like these is that they bypass the need coding skills and allow you to organize content via simple moving of items such as images and buttons and putting them together. This makes responsiveness a high priority because when you constantly play around with objects – a quick preview is needed so that you know how the design will appear in its final version.
Why I Like DragDropr?
Even though dragging and dropping items sounds simple, designing a blog still requires creativity. Having fresh ideas could make the starting of the process a bit difficult. This is why I was pleasantly surprised to see that DragDropr offers over 200 templates that could serve as a starting point. Before I got into any testing of responsiveness I wanted to check some of them out. They are also known as content blocks, you can access them in the main working area and their pre-design is awesome and easy to use and modify. Plus they have announced full Landing page templates (50+) which should be published every day now.
Once you choose some of the templates as a starting point you can then proceed to make changes and do your work from there. Of course, this is where the responsiveness factor comes in and I must say that DragDrop gets the job done. I couldn’t notice any visual bugs and the rendering of the changes was instantaneous. What’s even cooler is that the alterations get saved as a genuine HTML code – providing TOP page speed. Plus the fact that the content blocks work according to the CSS form which my webpage has selected is a huge benefit.
What’s definitely worth mentioning is that DragDrop is compatible with whatever CMS like WordPress, Magento 1&2, Lightspeed, and Shopify. On that note, it comes with the Google Chrome plug-in, the great thing about it is that there’s no need of doing any backend logging of your CMS.
How to Get Started with DragDropr?
In order to get started with using DragDropr, the first step is to get registered which will be followed by an activation link sent to your email. Afterward, when you get to the main working area you will be able to choose between ‘widgets’ and ‘content blocks’. If you take a look at the latter, this basically leads you the aforementioned templates that could serve as your starting point. And as you already know, after you have your pack you can start making changes as you please. The ‘widgets’ and ‘content blocks’ options are on the left side. This constitutes one of the two columns that are on the opposite sides of your screen, while the center is reserved for the large window that displays your items.
Speaking on the option of ‘widgets’, this allows you to make use of stuff such as images, videos, buttons, headlines, layout, and controls. Expectedly, you will like to have a more detailed control of each one of these and that’s when you can pay more attention to the column on the right. For example, if you’re working with ‘image’ what you get on the right column are a number of options that allow you to do modifications. This includes the ability to provide an URL for the image, alter its width and height, add a title, pick different tags, rotate the image, as well as other alignment possibilities.
Wrapping Up
It could be said that DragDropr is a software package that delivers on its promises. It is easy to use and while coding may sound like a troublesome idea to those who are not into it, with DragDropr the process of designing a webpage is indeed very fun. The layout is simple and really cannot get lost. All you have to do is pay attention to the column on the left side of the working area, perhaps choose a template as a starting point, and then when you want to focus on specific items such as images and headlines – you may shift your attention to the column on the right and do any detailed modification that you may find fit. In the center, you will see what you get, the responsiveness is instantaneous and you can preview your final design without worrying about any visual errors or lagging on your screen.
